Kanyon's 1st Camping Trip

At 4pm I was in Salt Lake, little did I know that at 7:30 I'd be on Kanyon's first camping trip. I love spontaneous trips. Kanyon had so much fun, he loved every minute!

Here is a tip for tent camping with night temps of 35 degrees and a 2 month old. Roll a bowling ball size rock away from the fire pit when you have about twenty minutes until bed. After 15 minutes of cooling time wrap the rock w 2 layers of newspaper, then one sweatshirt and finally 6 to 8 layers of tinfoil. Place the rock in between mom and dad about waste level and snuggle baby in a sleeping bag between you. This is an old trick but I tried it with Kanyon for the first time on this trip. You know it's working when you wake up and throw the covers off because it's too hot only to realize its 35 degrees on the other side of the covers pulling them back quickly to conserve the precious heat. Our rock stayed hot for a solid 14 hours, so please sleep in!

We need to go camping with you guys! He is the cutest baby, seriously. I wish we could meet him and snuggle him while he still a baby. You are so inventive just figure out a way to mail him here. It can't be any more difficult than keeping him warm at night :o)
